Why should I go rafting with Sage?
With the combination of our convenient locations, our brand new equipment, super fun guides, and our 35 years experience here in the Vail Valley, we gurantee you will be 110% satisfied with your trip, or your money back!

Do you provide a wetsuit?
Yes, in fact we provide everything at NO EXTRA COST: helmet, wetsuit, splashjacket, PFD, wetsuit booties, and neoprene gloves for the real cold days.

When is the rafting season?
the season starts Mid May and goes through the end of September usually

What should I bring rafting?
We will equip you with all the neccesary cold water rafting and safety equipment. You will want to wear a swimsuit, sunscreen, and if you have glasses, wear croakies with them, there is always a chance you will swim and lose your glasses. Bring cash to tip your guide, and a change of clothes is nice after the trip.

Is tipping the guide customary in rafting?
Yes. Just like eating at a restaurant, around 20% is the usual.

Do I need previous experience?
No, we offer trips for all levels of rafting, experienced or not, from ages 2 through 100!

Will I swim?
Possibly, and we don't charge extra for the out of boat experience!

Is transportation provided?
On certain trips it is. We are happy to pick you up at your hotel and drop you back off there at the end of the trip. On Gore Creek trips, you must meet us at our shop in Lionshead and we will transport you to the river from there.

How many people will there be per raft?
our small boats that are used on Gore Creek, Dowd Chute, and the Upper Eagle hold maximum of 6 people, and on the Lower Eagle, Shoshone, and family trips there are 8 - 10 people.

How do I make reservations?

What is the cancellation policy?
Trips cancelled 24 hours before the trip are refunded the full amount. Once you are in the 24 hour period there is no refund for the trip.

How far in advence do I need to make reservations?
As early as you like. It is a first come, first serve basis, so reservations gurantee you a spot on the river, but  usually we can accomodate your party the day before or even day of!

Do I need to know how to swim?
For class I, II, and easy III, no, you are not required to know how to swim. For hard class III and up you must be a good swimmer to participate.

What if it rains (or snows)?
We go rafting no matter what the weather is doing. The saying in Colorado is, "if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes!" Rafting is a "get wet" activity anyways, we have all the proper equipment to keep you warm weather the sun is out or hiding!
